Olivet School of Art and Design (OSAD) held an orientation for their new students before kicking off the 2018 Fall quarter. Associate Dean Zimou Tan introduced the school and was proud to welcome students who wished to become future artists.

Professor Tan, having graduated from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, served as a professor of Fine Arts until he joined Olivet University (OU). Since then, he has specialized on portrait painting and training students. In addition, he has been teaching art classes where students have developed their art sense towards producing art pieces.

Program Director Dr. Rodem Hwang introduced the courses and programs for the academic year. She encouraged students and helped them realize their future potential to be a graduate in the art and design field.

"Design is something that is connected everywhere and is always in demand,"" said Dr. Hwang. "Design can transform and lead through this era of communication. Designers will have a promising career with many opportunities."

Additionally, the design school faculty held an individual advisory meeting with new students. The one-on-one sessions helped students and faculty to get to better know each other. Through the meeting, students learned more on how to use their time efficiently. With active participation, one can be determined to become excellent artist through the touch of the Gospel.
