Professor to Publish Paper on Worldview and Identity Across Conversion
Dr. Thomas Johnson, professor at Olivet University's Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies, has authored a paper that examines the change in an individual's worldview following a Christian conversion moment. Titled "Worldview and identify across conversion", the paper considers why Christians from various countries and people groups active different from one another.
This is a question that has been considered by anthropologists, and Dr. Johnson suggests that the former worldview will format the behavior of believers. To understand a person’s behavior after conversion, worldview before and after the conversion point will need to be considered.
According to the paper, following a Christian conversion moment, an individual's worldview may or may not change. Although a Christian worldview is being added, the former worldview may remain active or it may be changed progressively. There are 4 models of worldview change considered: the stratigraphic model of creation, the model of the five basic soteriological concepts, the model of conscience orientation, and the time concept.
